Wow what a night.... I bought tickets to this show back in late Oct. then I actually won back stage passes to meet Mastodon.... Let's see there was 6 bands on the bill for the night, A new band out of Atlanta called MonstrO who's 1st album was produced by Mr. William Duvall of Alice In Chains took stage 1st around 5:40 p.m….. They blew me away!!! I Mr. Duvall actually came out and sang a song with them…. met up with the lead singer for MonstrO back stage later on which was really cool…. The 2nd band of the night was a band called Tiger! Tiger! And they were pretty cool as well, later found out when I talked to Brann of Mastodon that his wife was in Tiger! Tiger! They had kind of an Indigo girls sound maybe a little heavier…. Next up was Red Fang, (one of my new Favorite up & coming bands) They blew me away with their “Spot on Sound” I mean they just sounded so bad ass!!!! I actually met Aaron Beam their lead singer/bassist at the bar and he was a very cool dude! Next up was The Dillinger Escape Plan, they were good but just a little toooo heavy for my tastes…. Next up was The Black Lips and I was very impressed with their sound as well… then Mastodon took stage, keep in mind I have caught 3-4 Mastodon shows but none like this one….. They were incredible!!!! Aight we got back stage to meet Mastodon and hung out with them for a few minutes, took pics, got autographs etc…. and they were all great guys, as we were going back to the stage front, we ran into Charlie lead singer for MonstrO and hung out the rest of the night backstage with all the bands and Mr. Duvall, I haven’t partied like that in a while….. what I great night!!!! I'm sure I left a million things out.....
