Okay, so I shop for stuff and tend to be able to find the right price. In my search for an amp, I have settled on trying to find a GK MB500.
Guitar Center doesn't stock them in stores, but they can be ordered online and that's free shipping at $499.99 MAP.
"The nation's Guaranteed Lowest Price"
RMC Audio sells the same amp, same free shipping on their site. But it says "Email me for a better price". And you do and they email you back a link to get the amp for $449.99.
GC claims that if you buy their item and find a lower price, they will give you the new price and another 10% of the difference. In essence, that beats RMC by $5.
If I were to go into a store, I'm guessing that they wouldn't be able to match that due to tax being added, but they do have a computer in the store that you can use to check the lowest price.
My questions, though are such:
If I were to buy online at GC and then bring the info to the stores' attention, would they refund me the difference?
Or is there an online source that would refund the money that's lower than their GLP?
Or should I just buy from RMC Audio?

BUT, RMC has a better price and free shipping, so why not buy from them! I say support the smaller guy. |

| | | | So much angst over $5? You'll pay that much or more in taxes from GC in person or on line. If they have a store in your state, you'll have to pay the sales tax. Pull the trigger and order it from the site for $449.

I figure that GC would probably just tell me "Well, we beat the ADVERTISED prices, so this doesn't qualify."
Just thought that getting it from GC, even at the same price, could give me a brick and mortar store that I could go to if there was an issue with the amp...
Although, GK would probably handle it direct if it were within warranty range and would be a lot better for handling the task than GC anyway, so...
Word, RMC has my sale. When I get the money.

It sounds like the link that they sent you is running in the background on their website, and not a searchable ad.

But I could prove that they don't have the nations lowest price and I could show them on the screen.

I've actually had no troubles getting at least something off for an item that's above $300.00 or so, and I even got a 10% discount on a harmonica - so it can be done.
I try to only go to one or two people in the store and that helps a lot when you are a repeat customer and ask for them.

| | | | Music123 has a price match link on their website. Just fill it out with the link to the cheaper one, and they will beat that price, probably by 5% so you could save more that $5. Plus, i think Music123 has free shipping right now.
