Hey guys, just a question for you metal-heads...
I've been listening to Metallica for a long time now, and I just recently started listening to Iron Maiden, and I really like them too. I also like quite a few songs from Black Sabbath and one song from Megadeth (I think it's called 'Reckoning Day'). Lately I've been thinking I should listen to more metal bands so I don't get bored of the ones I listen to now. So could some of you metal fans suggest some bands that play Metallica and Maiden type of stuff? Thanks a lot.
Peace,
Graeme |

-Celtic Frost
-Black Label Society
-Rob Halford
-Judas Priest
-Saxon
-Twisted Sister
-Testament

Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss (my fav) or maybe Raining Blood (my 2nd fav)
Motley Crue - decade of Decadence (a greatest hits compilation) ...this is everything that was good about the 80's LA Glam scene. |

I just mean new music to just listen to. But I have heard a lot about this Opeth band, would you mind naming some of their better songs? And I forgot to say, I also like Exodus. Thanks for the responses guys, I really appreciate it. Keep 'em comin'!

| | | Wow, I just listened to Dio... it's awesome! I like Anthrax and Judas Priest too, although Slayer didn't really do it for me. I can't stand the guy's voice, and all the songs sound the same. Thanks a lot guys.

Note that none of these are really in the same vein as Metallica or Iron Maiden (never really was much a maiden fan, honestly); but they're all really, really good metal.

From Type O Negative, Bloody Kisses is a great record.

| | | I think you guys covered most of the good bands.
Try Rainbow,Whitesnake,Dokken,Kiss,Manowar and Deep Purple(though some of these bands arn't metal) as well.
If you like Dio get Dehumaniser by Black Sabbath. He does vocals on that.
Geezer is inhuman on that album.
Check out Control Denied too.Digiorgio on the fretless .
But you can never get tired of Harris' lines especially his 80's lines

Heaven and Hell has Dio singing for Sabbath as well and is my fav Sabbath album.
And IMO Dio was always the better singer for Sabbath.
