Hehe Great! But I think they would rather be known as "Metallica"

I would seriously rather buy a CD than buy the album over iTunes. Same price, but at least I get a shiny disc and some booklet or something. And if my hard drive ever explodes, I still have the shiny disc.

+1

I would hate to lose all my music because of hard drive failure.

With CD's, I'm protected from that.

Metallica is the only group I actively illegally download with no chance of ever giving them money.

I don't buy anything related to Metallica. CD's, clothes, lunchboxes, etc.

I guess I'm afraid of getting sued if what I buy turns out to be illegally reproduced.

And when your shiny disc gets scratches on it, you'll then have nothing but a shiny scratched disc that used to play music.

Step into 2006 and burn your disks to a hard drive.

Erm, you do mean "rip."

As for iTunes, I have some mixed feelings. I dig legit (and er....illegit) music downloads (although I've had Metallica's first three and best records for years), but some stuff they do pisses me off. Fr'instance:

Opeth's Lamentations: Live at Shepard's Bush 2003 DVD at Wherehouse Music: $15

Audio of said DVD, EXCLUSIVELY on iTunes: $20.

Lame. So I get the DVD for cheaper but have to shell out what I paid for it AND five more dollars for the audio? Psssh.

And before you ask, YES, I am too lazy to record and bootleg my DVD digitally myself.

Not only that, but you can rip mp3's off it that do NOT have DRM protection... & play them anywhere you want.

Better deal all the way around.

Actually, it isn't. EAC and LAME(Windows world) is the best rip/enc combo available.

Sorry for hijack.
