Metronome Suggestions

I want to get a cheap metronome but I've seen some reviews saying the beep won't cut though a bass guitar. Has anyone had an issue with this? Does anyone know of a good brand to look at?

DO NOT get an electronic metronome. As a matter of fact don't get a metronome at all.

Do you have a smartphone? There are several free and cheap metronome apps.

The volume will be a problem with almost all metronomes, they just have a teeny-tiny speaker. The solutions are either to use headphones (even just one earbud), or run the metronome into a spare practice amp or guitar combo.

Exar's business is on hold for now. I will still help previous customers.

What I have, and it works quite well, is a Korg MA-1 digital metronome. Under $20 where I got mine. It can be set for a variety of beats and rhythms, at a tempo from 30 to 252 BPM. It has a small speaker, but also a volume control and headphone jack. When I do use it, I use it with a single ear bud in one ear so I can still hear my bass with the other.

set the nome to half the bpm for beats 2 and 4 not every beat.

And not 1 and 3.

Why not just turn down while playing with the metronome?
