Well, I just got boned by musiciansfriend. I bought a rack case and some other rack mounted goodies, and payed the preposterous shipping of 81$. this was about 3 days ago. According to their website, my purchase has been shipped, But i hadn't gotten a tracking number, So I call up MF and ask for one. The sales rep gives me a 9 digit number and says it was shipped via fedex. Now, I know for a fact that fedex numbers are 12 to 24 digits, So I say thats wrong. He then argues with me and says it's right. I call up fedex and give them this number. They say it is not a valid tracking number. So I call UPS (the other shipping company they use) and give it to them, it is also wrong.
So, another call to MF and they still argue with me and claim that it was shipped already. Now I am pissed and wonder where the hell my package is!?
Anybody else have this happen to them? Should I have veered away from MF all together? |

Weather has been sucky, slowing shipments everywhere but especially in the North, plus shipments to Canada are further slowed by their process through Customs. I've had small parcels take as long as three weeks to get from Oregon to Canada by regular UPS Ground, and as long as two weeks by USPS Priority Mail. Almost all of that delay is at Customs.
Also FWIW for some reason shipping to Canada actually is just as expensive as shipping to Europe IME. |

IIRC, I ordered something or another from some website, the shipping was about 5$ cheaper to the UK. |

Anybody else have this happen to them? Should I have veered away from MF all together? | The nine digit tracking number might be your Purchase Order number and can be tracked via their website. Zzounds.com gives a similar P.O. number that you use to access the shipping info on your purchase. The actual tracking number is listed under your MF account. Its worth giving that a try.

MF refuses to ship oversized items to Hawaii. Needless to say, I don't buy much from them. Hell, they charge $18 to ship an $12 set of strings!
To the OP, here's a link to the Customer Accounts page for Musiciansfriend https://secure.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/my/
Its the Christmas holidays so shipping is slow as molasses anyways.

They tried to ship it via ground! The shipping company brought it back to the MF warehouse. I can imagine the driver from the shipping company telling MF that their trucks don't float!

I was told they ship to Canada using some company called 'roadway express'. Did some research on this company and boy do i feel safe ( )
Again, I was given another wrong tracking number.
The web PO number is about 23 digits long, and is invalid to every tracking company I called. On my account there is no tracking number, So.....
