So i have had this album for a few months and havent gotten around to giving it a proper listening to on my stereo until this morning. Im still listening but there are a few observations i would like to make. The band still maintains their sound, but it seems more grown up. Their last album, i felt was great, but it sounded juvenile in a sense (not necessarily a bad thing). This album has a great "vintage" feel to it; i could have seen this coming out in the UK in 1968. A few of the tracks remind me of Barrett era Floyd.

Will continue to listen and perhaps come back to edit for more. Anyone else give this a listen yet?

I was kinda 'whatever' with the first album. 'Kids' was poppy enough to get my hips swinging.

Reviewers are giving 'Congradulations' super bad reviews. I think everyone just wanted them to make a more mature pop album, and they didn't. For better or for worse, i guess...

Personally, i've only listened to the song 'Congradulations', and the feel is just so removed from their last album. With the pop, MGMT really brought in a new audience that i think has been totally turned off by the more subdued, chilled back new album...

Who knows? I think their next album is what will really make or break them in the mainstream world.
