Friday night the wife and I took in the first show of the tour.

Mike and his band was really soulfull. His bassist used a vintage J then Sadowsky 5's I believe.

Steely Dan was extremely tight and satisfing. Jazz/rock at it's finest. Their bass player used one P bass the whole show.

Two thumbs up!!

Anyone else catch the show in Milwaukee or the following night in Chicago?

This is the first year in a long time that I either didn't play or go.

Did Mike come out and sing backing vocals with Steely Dan? Did they do "Peg", "Rose Darling", "Kid Charlemange" or any of his other great old 70's Dan vocal tunes?

Mike came out 2/3rd's the way through 'Dans show and sang lead and/or back-up to 3 songs two of which I recall where "Ricky Don't Lose that Number" and I think "Black Jack". He came back out for the encores and backing vocals also.

Aja was a landmark album for them so it is fitting they play alot of that stuff whenever they play live IMO. GREAT guitar work too from Walter Becker on his Sadowsky Strat and another guitarist who was very tasteful with his playing.
