What's the best microphone to use, for a 6x10 ampeg cab and svt3 pro head, in a pa set up.
Don't seem to be getting anything from di straight in.

I used a Sennheiser MD421 in front of an SVT 8x10 for a decade and later in front of a Trace Elliot 4x10. It reproduces what the speaker is putting out and won't distort. Not cheap.
Use the DI for low end and clarity(fullness) and the miked speaker for cutting and getting YOUR tone across.

Another vote for MD421. You can also try AKG D12 If you find one in a decent shape, the D112 isn't as good IMO.

421 and d12 or d112 are good choices. Id also suggest and audix d6, a sure sm7b, or an EV RE20.
