Microtonal Noise Guitar

Oh no.

Basically I have my friend's Samick Tele clone tuned DDDDdd. I really wish it was mine so I could take the frets off of it and make it a microtonal beast machine.

But for now I'll have to use a slide or something.

I'll post clips when I get to recording something.

i know im gonna get flamed here.. but is that a serious art form?
i mean.. did he actually compose that or did he kinda just.... make scratching noises on a guitar?

it was probably a spontaneous thing. glenn branca's actual compositions are highly intricate and use rather complicated harmonies (once you get past the 'noise' factor). it seems to me that in the moment, he was purposefully being anti-form but not anti-art. so it's not really an art form at all, in the sense that it has no structure and cannot be (or at least is not intended to be) practiced, studied, or duplicated.

I don't see why getting serious about that isn't just as valid as writing a bunch of stuff that only uses "power chords" and simple pentatonic progressions or riffs. I mean, that's been yawned seventy ways to Sunday and back.
