I googled the forums, and looked in the "Free Software" Sticky here, but am not exactly sure what I should be looking for. I've got a MIDI keyboard from my buddy, and I'd like to use it for helping me to learn theory and just give me an alternative instrument to mess with than my bass. I don't need to be able to record it, I just want to be able to have it play through my PC's speakers. Do I need a full-on recording suite of software like Ableton Live or ProTools just to play it? I'm looking for something free, as I said I don't care to record it, and don't have any kind of PC interface for my bass if I wanted to record that.
