midi to mp3/similar converter

hey, im looking for something to convert midi unchanged to mp3. any online one ive found always uses its own midi fonts and it doesnt work unless its very similar to mine. just want to send files to people to show ideas and not have it sound totally different.

any suggestions, software or online are appreciated.

plug your line out into your line in and record it. Play it in your midi player and record it with your audio recorder.

yeh but thats quite a bit of hassle and i dont have a stereo 1/8th cable around.
as a last resort anyway.

must be a simpler way

I dont know of any software that converts midi to audio without recording it.

Let me know if you find something though.

i found a trial program called direct midi to mp3

30 days but think a reinstall restarts to the 30 day period.
otherwise have to pay or crack if youre so inclined. grand for now anyway

Audacity will do it in one step. Be sure to get LAME too to make it an MP3 export-capacity.

You get to chose your bitrates and quality.

Oh - and they're both free. Runs in Windows and Linux.
