This might be my favorite craigslist ad yet :)

Sign in to disble this ad
Bassist without bass available for jams/gigs (NYC)

My bass is not available right now (long story) but I am.
No beginners.
Experience gigging around NYC and elsewhere.

Rock, pop, funk, etc.
Play other instruments.

Paid gigs considered first but the music must go on either way

Nice. I suppose it goes without saying that he'll need a ride to the gig too?

I think it's the "no beginners" that gets me.

I think the beginners he doesn't want are in a better position to ask for "paid gigs"

It looks like his brain may not be available, either.

Maybe someone should answer his ad and ask him which pawnshop his bass in and that you are looking to buy another bass

Kind of like saying. I'm a mechanic, but I dont own any tools. I will work on Your car for pay, and I expect You to furnish the needed equipment and supplies.

Actually, there are a number of bands with rehearsal spaces that also have extra basses and some studios that will rent you a bass in NYC. Many gigs one would play in NYC will have a backline so you don't need a rig and there's mass transit. Having said that, I don't find this particular ad that far out there, YMMV.
