Miles Davis stuff

I've got the bassline for "So What" by Miles Davis, and during the guitar/trumpet/cello solos I have to walk......

the progression looks like this:

||Dm7||%|%|%|%|%|%|%|Ebm7|%|%|%|Dm7|%|%|%:||

its just a simple AABA progression, but the problem is that I haven't the slightest idea of how to walk in one chord for that long

Yeah basically you are playing a whole mode or scale - D Dorian, for example, rather than just that chord - you can always do this anyway - add in notes from scales/modes and chromatic passing notes etc. etc.

But as Jim says it has been discussed many times before around here and if you search, you will no doubt find much better advice from much better players than me!!
