Mixer+splitter for headphone signals?

Sign in to disble this ad
My drummer and I want to practice in silence at his dormroom.

We want to mix the headphone signals of his elctronic drum, my vox amplug and a metronome and split the mix to headphones for him and me.

Code:
electronic drum ----|
                    |---- headphones drummer
amplug bass --------|
                    |---- headphones bassist
metronome ----------|
Anyone know if there's a device or combination of devices that can help us achieve this?

Thanks many!!

Thanks man!!
Are those headphone out signals strong enough for the inputs of that mixer?
What kind of cables do I need?
Can I use regular instrument cables to connect the different devices?

If you only need two headphones, you could just get the mixer and a splitter similar to this:

Any electronic shop is likely t have one (Best Buy, Radio Shack, etc) and it'll only be a couple bucks.

I use this one as I am not a Behringer fan.

http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PV6/

It has a headphone out plug. Run a stereo splitter on the
headphone out jack and you both plug in. Plenty of volume
on the headphine out.

You can run your bass right into channel 5 or 6, mono
quarter inch input.

Nice little unit and always useful as a mixer with a power amp
or sub mixer as well.

Hello again!

Thanks for all your advice! Really got me thinking.

I'm thinking it could all be way cheaper (even cheaper than behringer).

I just plug the headphone out of the metronome in the aux in of the amplug.
The headphone out of the amplug in the aux in of the drum module.
Then I use TL5's recommendation to split the headphone out of the drummodule to the drummers and my headphones.

Any reason why this wouldn't work?
Probably a little harder to get a nice mix, but way cheaper.
Do I need microphone cables for this? Or instrument cables?

To connect the amplug to the aux in of the drum, I need a cable mini jack (1/8") to jack (1/4"). I can't find such a cable in mono, but I can find one in stereo, doesn't matter right?
