MMMW at the Showbox in Seattle

Saw Medeski, Martin and Wood at the Showbox in Seattle last night (great sounding venue). Man, what a great show - some of the stuff was a bit out there for my taste, but for the most part it was one of the best shows I have ever seen. Awesome compositions and DEEP grooves were happenin! Chris Wood went back and forth between a Jazz bass and an upright - his upright tone was boomin! Whenever he would drop down from playing some mad upper register riffs to hit a low open note it was like

I've never seen an upright played quite that way before...

Great, great show - check them out if you can...

I love it when he just slaps the body to hell and goes off on a mini percussion solo

I saw them this summer, it was a great show, but it was in a big outdoor venue, they were the opener. Theyre coming out this way at the end of the month,hopeflly ill be able make that show.
