Moody Straps...

Sign in to disble this ad
I did some searching and noticed (old posts... been a while) that there was a Moody strap discounted for TalkBass with the Bass Clef on it... guessing that was a one time only thing.

Are there any other promotions or coupon codes that can be used to lessen the price a bit?___

Ordered one from GC, was a good deal at $121 delivered, it came in, but not caring for the color too much, Black with Creme Suede back 4" Long. Thinking that the Tobacco suede backside would suit me much better... all I could find is full retail prices on this one. As in Moody's site.

Advice on what would be a suitable width for a future Gibson SG Standard bass, the 2.5" or the 4"?__

i would think the 4" to spread the weight out..

i wanted one of the TB Moody straps, but just never really scraped up the money for one.. now, they've been gone for awhile.. i wanted the black with red back..

i emailed Moody about the bass clef straps..

I prefer their 2-1/2" straps, and the leather backed rather than the suede. YMMV however. If you keep an eye on eBay you can sometimes find them for a good price.

Keep an eye on Amazon. I picked up a 4" black with red lining for 39 bucks about 8 months ago. I was shocked at that price. They go real quick too !!!

I have one of those straps with a bass clef along with a 2.5" Moody. I rarely use the 4" one because it is too wide for me. It would slide down my shoulder, or hit my neck. Maybe it's my body style, but I do not take advantage of the entire 4" width for weight distribution. The 2.5 works better for me, and I feel it holds my bass more secure.

2 of my basses are quite heavy, so to distribute the weight more evenly across my shoulder, I need wider straps. I also have either a 2" or 2 1/2" for my Ibanez.

The red suede backing, always hard to tell the true colors from an online pic.... any idea how that matches up to Gibsons Cherry/Heritage Cherry color?_______
