I think you are talking about
rock/pop recordings featuring a cowbell. I say this because the 100% of Salsa (and related genres) recordings feature a cowbell. Here's my contribution:
- Cupid's Dead (Extreme)
- I Call Your Name (The Beatles)
- A Hard Day's Night (The Beatles)
- Ladies Room (Kiss - actually, there are many songs in the Criss era Kiss catalog that feature a cowbell. "Love Her All I Can" is another one off the top of my head)
I'll post more later. I'm a big fan of the cowbell (the fat-sounding one that bongo players also play in a Salsa band). But with all the due respect, I haven't heard a cowbell in a rock/pop recording that really moves me. If you want to hear an example of a REAL cowbell, check
