"WT* is emo?", I went to the fountain of all knowledge - YouTube - for the answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6Dmg_4ZA2Y |

This is one of the better and more unbiased descriptions of the early emo movement. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emo
And the wikipedia article actually isn't that bad.
Though emo is a vague term, there have been yardsticks to measure it by indicated by the types of bands called the term during the years. And it gets longer as the word receives broader usage. The stereotypical emo teenager honestly doesn't look all that different than the goth kids who listened to the Cure when I was in high school (1993-1997). Emo wasn't even kids wearing makeup back then. It was stuff like Promise Ring, Texas is the Reason, Jawbreaker, Sunny Day Real Estate, etc.
By whatever broad definition I've been given over my years in the punk scene, then I can say Simon and Garfunkel are the godfathers of emo. (This was a t-shirt idea I had a long time ago with a friend of mine.) |

Other than that he looks like he's doing his best impression of Fonzworth Bentley.

We're all entitled to our opinion, sorry that most peoples opinion of emo is rather derogatory.
And if you don't think there are still people out there calling people by racist derogatory words you are sadly misinformed. No, its not fair, but the world isn't a fair place. |
I am surrounded by racism. The other day two blacks beat up a mexican kid at school. I go to highschool. Its the most racist place ever. |

But anything that Kanye touches automatically becomes lame, just by association. His "rap" is lame, and now he's just released an "emo" record. Hence, lame.
And Flakeh - calm down, kiddo. |
