More returning to Gigging full time?

Sign in to disble this ad
I was at a session with a long time friend on guitar and he related to me that he had got a phone call from someone we used to play with 10-12 yrs ago. This guy had stopped playing full time and pursued a career in IT because he was tired of the ups and downs of depending on gigging full time. I would see him from time to time at gig's and he seemed happy in his decision and pretty much stopped playing all together. So our mutual friend related to me that he was going to start playing again because he has ,like many people in the USA, lost his job and needs money. This was not the first person I knew who stopped and is recently starting up again due to a change in circumstances. Has anybody else seen this or have you done this yourself?
