The behaviour you're thinking of is metal's circle pits, and hardcore's two-step and throw-downs. Buncha other stuff too, look it up in wikipedia
Stage diving & crowd surfing is generally frowned upon here in Oz, but that can happen at a performance of any genre.

Metal pit on the other hand...I prefer to stand in the back if I can help it. I really don't feel like getting spikes in the face by some angsty teenager who doesn't know how to better...express himself or herself. |

And if moshing isn't illegal, then you have to ask yourself, why is marijuana illegal? |

| | | | Apparently cropwd surfing is too. When I first went to concerts I was like "I gotta try crowd surfing!!". Then I get to places and hear they kick you out for it. What a bummer.

Problem is, he was the Homer Simpson of stage divers, and landed right on top of her, also managing to kick me in the face and bust my glasses/bloody my nose real good. Then he gave me a dirty look.
I think it needs to just be under control. Don't do anything stupid, and show some brotherhood in the pit. If I knock someone down, I help 'em back up.

What i absolutely despise is people who go there with their clove cigarettes and wait for the breakdowns, and then start ninja-pitting, (where they do the hardcore 2step thing, and start throwing their arms, legs and whatever around haphazardly.) At real metal shows, those kind of assholes get removed from the floor pretty quickly (via bouncers, or people who don't feel like getting punched in the face by some dude in girl pants.)

i'd much rather get my moneys worth and watch the band play without having to worry about getting kicked in the head by some dimwit who wants to crowd surf. that or getting squashed by huge, sweaty, smelly guys | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
