Hello fellow TB junkies!
This is a thread about songs that are fun to play on bass. What is your favorite one and why?? Is it the groove? The funk? The lock-in with the particular band?? Or just the feeling it gives you/the crowd response??
This dosent have to be a thread that is limited to cover bands however if you have more fun playing an original than you do any cover song, try to post a link so we can hear it!
So, on that note, the main reason i started this thread is that i think every bass player should learn to play In the Meantime by Spacehog. the song is fun and has a great groove. Actually, this song for me hits pretty much every reason that i stated above. great groove, locks in fairly easily and the crowd response is 100%. at least for the crowds that i play to. So let me hear your favorite songs!

From the intro to the simple major groove, it is just a delight to swing along and hold it together.
It's hard to pick a favorite. There are just favorites of a particular time.

This was one of the first few songs i ever learned to play on bass and still love it to this day. Very fun song. If you like STP give Unglued a go....not as involved as Plush but still really fun and full of energy.

If you have to know only a handful of lines, that's one that you can't go wrong with. Never really been exposed much to 88FL, but I just checked out the song and dug it. I think the closest exposure I've had to them is through Rise Against, who I saw last night with Bad Religion. \m/ Quote: |

The bassline is fairly straightforward and simple but it's aggressive and a lot of fun to play, and who doesn't love a bass solo intro? This is definitely my go to song for really diggin' in or for testing amp and/or cab.
