makes you think what? that you don't like rap so you think anyone who raps doesn't deserve to win an award?

i don't listen to him either, but it doesn't make me think anything that needs to be censored

Don't get your panties in a wad. The OP put the word 'singer' in quotations because rapping isn't singing. There wasn't any mention of hating rap.

Rapping is a skill. Singing is a skill. They are a very different set of skills, however.

I agree, but I wouldn't classify a rapper as a singer or vice versa. Vocalist would cover both, IMHO.

The news caption calls him a singer. I say ***. I remember real singers and when the grammys had some class and respectability. I wouldn't even watch now.

The only awards i enjoy are Downbeats readers polls. Actual musicians voted on by actual musicians or enthusiasts, not people who like songs because they can shake their *** to it.

Ahh....sorry but the "music" biz makes me want to punch a baby.
