most underrated bass player?

Simply put who is the most overlooked or underrated bass player you can think of?

I would have to say Dan Briggs of BTBAM simply because most dont give the band the time of day because they're so heavy. Dont get me wrong the people who know BTBAM know Dan is amazing at bass, it just seems like everybody is quick to bash just because its metal. So the most overlookeed bass player in my opinion is Dan Briggs of Between the buried and me.

John taylor, duran duran. The band name brings 80's flashbacks to some people but the basslines were sweet in a lot of those tunes.

Pete McCullough (I don't even know if I've spelt his name right) of Streetlight Manifesto. But +1 to Mick Karn as well.

+1 on John Taylor. A lot of people aren't even aware of his work with Power Station/Robert Palmer. Great bass lines there! "Some Like It Hot", "Get It On, Bang A Gong", etc. He's done movie work and solo projects as well.

+1 on John Taylor.
I also think Mike Mills' work in R.E.M. gets overlooked.

+1 for John Taylor!!!

I don't remember where I saw it, but Prince is a top notch bassist too.

Let's not forget Dusty Hill and Doug Pinnick.
