Muse - To cover or not to cover.

One of our guitarists is suggesting we cover Uprising. I personally like the tune, it would be fairly simple on my part to play. However we lack keyboards, so he transposed the arrangement for guitar.

Since we play to the local bar scene, my question is this, do you think it would work? Seems to me that it might not get the girls dancing. Which seems to be pretty important

What say you Talk bass?

Uprising is practically the same song as Call Me by Blondie and that one gets people dancing, with or without keys I would think. You could always start with Call Me and then go into Uprising.

This.

use a well known established song to reel them in, then hit them with the new release in the same key to keep em on the floor. try it after the second chorus of call me, straight into uprising, it'll work, the band will look clever, and it'll be like a mashup with real musicians.
