No.

While they create great music, no one (band) can "save" modern music. The beast that it is nowadays has developed way too far.

Welcome to the age of genre-based music my friend.

modern music doesn't need saving...

It's all crap until it survives a few peoples collections for a few years and then it becomes the good stuff like bands use to play... and eventually becomes the classics.

Anyway, hasn't Muse been putting out the same stuff for 10 years now? How are they gonna save modern music... reissue 10 year old classics

its the musical version of the movie twilight...NO
IMO its whiny and intollerable. the bass hardly sound like bass on half the stuff ive heard and until seeing them preform i thought it was a synth.
the singers stage presence projects that he is full of himself and shows no real reason to be.

plus i remember 15 years ago when people asked this about oasis.

it dosent need saving. wanna save music? hide the ps3 and xbox and every guitar hero controller you can find and make the kids watch purple rain !

Modern music needs saving badly, but Muse wont, for most of the reasons already stated, plus they used to be a LOT better than the latest crap (maybe the OP has just got into them recently, like so many people in the US suddenly have). So they wouldent be the band to do it anyway, we need something new .

Have you heard him play? He's amazing on both guitar and piano, and has an incredible voice. It's not really shown off on the new album, which is, FWIW, the worst album released this year. But Matt's a really talented guy, I just wish he used his talent for good, not evil.

For the record, I personally don;t really see how Muse is all that great, they're a bit lackluster IMO, but a friend posed this question to me, which prompted me to ask this.

To understand Muse you have to see them live.

When Detox comes out, Dr. Dre is going to save hip hop.

I find Muse to be a little annoying for some reason now.
