Music not intended for bass

Hiya; I've just passed a happy hour or so busking along here at home to Elgar's Cello concerto in E minor.
Very interesting it is too.

Not playing arco on my Precision (of course) it really makes you think about the legato while also darting about the fingerboard.

So, the question is, do others enjoy playing music that was never intended for their instrument, and find it fun?

If so what?

I like taking well known melodies from old songs and funking them up. A recent addition was Over the Rainbow.
