Music videos

I'm pretty big on music videos. I really like a lot of 'em. Does anybody else think much of MV's?

Here's some of my favourites...

Oasis - Wonderwall
This is the first music video I have ever seen on TV. I probably would have been about five or six when I first saw it. Also, Oasis was the first band I ever liked.

Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
This song/video is pretty good, I think. It's mainly a performance video, but I like it. I like it so much I remember giving it the ultimate compliment, which was just headbanging to the song itself without saying a word.

Regurgitator - Black Bugs
I really love this video, mainly because it's animated. Well, I've always loved cartoons. Shame that I can't find it on YouTube.

The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army
Really cool riff. Was one of the first songs I learned on bass. And I taught myself how to play it almost instantly after I got it. The video's got some great visuals, too.

Fatboy Slim - Weapon of Choice
I think it's funny, and that Christopher Walken's a good dancer. If I was hosting Rage, and introducing this video, I'd probably imitate said person.

Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
It's pretty weird, what with all the distorted features and ****...

Audioslave - Cochise
So many fireworks. Thought to be a terrorist attack during filming. Warning: may cause seizures.

Jamiroquai - Virtual Insanity
While I dislike most pop music, I think Jamiroquai is pretty good. As seen in this video, he's also a good dancer. And wouldn't it be cool if you could have a room with a treadmill floor?

Beck - E-Pro
Great use of animation. What's more, it looks like it's done all in one take.

That's all I can think of at the moment. These are some of my favourite videos. What do you fellow TB'ers like?

Aphex Twin; both videos and music

Björk: mostly the videos, not so much the music, A+ for innovation though.

My brother likes the Bjork videos. In fact, he says they are the only good songs on the Michel Gondry DVD.

Come to Daddy's alright, but Windowlicker is just wrong. Chicks with guy's faces...that sends my boner into the ground. Not as bad as Rock DJ, though...

Here are some of my own favorites

Depeche Mode- Stripped. It's quite dark and frightening with DM members stepping out from the steam of a factory.

New Order- Blue Monday. This video is quite psychadelic, making no sense, with the band members chasing tennis balls, books with moving pictures...........it is Weird. It was also the first music video I can clearly remember and was my first time that I saw Hooky my fave bass player.

Level 42- Lessons In Love. The first L42 video I ever saw.

Joy Division- Love Will Tear Us Apart- this is a performance vide taken in their practice room in Strawberry Studios, Manchester. The misery and pain the band were going through was evident.

The Smiths- There Is A Light That Never Goes Out- classic song.

Electronic- Getting Away With It. This was their first album and it isn't a bad video for a band-directed video.

Erasure- Love To Hate You. I love this song and the dancing done by Andy Bell is simply excellent.

If I think of any more I'll add them.

Really? Hm. I saw a video for Blue Monday like up late, and it was like a live performance (probably TOTP) with the original studio version dubbed over it.

I think Aphex Twin did more than Come to Daddy and Windowlicker.

EDIT = Regurgitator's Black Bugs video can be found on Youtube now. And I'm also planning to purchase the "Rage Gets Animated" DVD, which has the video on it.

Oh, and by the way, I forgot to mention that Silverchair's Freak video is also very good. Radiohead has also made some good videos, namely Just, Paranoid Android and Pyramid Song.
