Music (in your Minds Eye)

Well I am not sure if this is the right spot or not...but

(I've been doing some self study of music theory. I'm trying to develop my ear more.. I thought I heard what was a "I chord" in the background of a comercial recently...but then I wasnt sure of what key it was in.. and of course it was all of 15 seconds and was over..so I am not sure if I was even headed in the right direction or not. I just started working on making chords out of scales so I admit to some n00bish depth in that regard.)

so, the reason for the post;

If you could; Explain how you 'see music' in your 'minds eye' when you hear music.

for example....

Now, I have a sense that feels more like that of the Grand Staff. (to the extent that I try to pick out if type; stringed, winds, piano/organ, precussion etc.. in addition to the note duration and pitch.. (like in the F & G Clef) Where as before, what I preceived was mainly note rhythms (with out a specific pitch) as I tend to get locked into the BEAT of a song rather then the melody and harmony...

anyone wanna take a stab at describing your thoughts when you hear music?

thank ye.
