Musicians Friend's used gear.

Musician's Friend was really pushing their used gear when I was on the website today so I checked some of the stuff out. Has anyone else seen this? IMO they are asking way too much for used gear. Is anyone buying this stuff? I saw an Aggie GS212 on there, used, and they wanted $701.00 or so for it. Those have sold on here used for like $500.00 and you can get a new one on M.F. for $770 or so if memory serves. Seems inflated for used gear....thoughts?

seems to me that they think they are selling B-stock gear.

Check the description closely, many of these items are returns of new gear that they can no longer sell as new. They can be in virtually brand new condition and still come with the 45 day satisfaction guarantee, which you can't get from a private sale or eBay. The condition on MF used items is rated 1-3 with 1 meaning you likely would never be able to tell the difference from a "new in box" piece of gear.

Not to say that you can't find better deals, but it's not a bad place to troll for a discounted item. I wouldn't be surprised if many of these returns are from TBers who are using the "buy and try" method.

Good point but they still seem pricey. If I take a piece of gear home, the resale value is not what they are asking on there, even if it's in great shape. If they are selling that stuff for those prices, more power to them. I guess they do give guarantees that you won't get in a private sale.

You'll always do better buying from an individual, anyway. When you buy used from a dealer of used equipment, he has to sell it for more than he paid the prior owner for it.
