| I went back in 1986 (87 Grad), and I really liked it. It's worth it if you put the effort into learning, practicing, and playing as much as possible. I did see many people waste their money and time going to MI by partying instead of doing serious work. I have been out of that scene for awhile now so I can't say if there are better places to go, but IMHO what you get out of it will be what you put into it regardless of the institution you attend. I can tell you I have never regretted my year at BIT, and at times I wish I could do it again.
