Musicians (and more) helping out after disasters

Touching and scary story about one particular music store in Joplin, MO. Kudos to Orange, Geddy, and all of the contributors who picked stuff up at the auction. Made me wonder about the impact of many of the disasters in this and other years on local musicians, music stores, luthiers, etc. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities to help these folks out.

And...to the looters who took the gear that wasn't damaged - You'll get yours some day.

Locally, you will find that people have benefits for Cancer victims, accident victims, people whose houses have burned down, and other folks who are carrying a heavy burden. Usually these include raffles, fish fries, or other things. Keep your eyes peeled, and volunteer your band for these, often a live band will attract more attendees, even if only to see what all the noise is about! It's a good way for us not-so-famous musicians to help or fellow man. My band plays several a year, and it's always nice to know you helped out a little.
