Musiciansfriend Problem

Sign in to disble this ad
I've always had decent luck using Musiciansfriend with the exception of maybe one order but this week has been nothing but a problem with them! I placed my order Saturday night, never heard from them until Tuesday when I emailed and they responded that there was a "problem submitting payment and to call their verification department". So I did and was told it was a computer error. I really needed the gear by Friday and they offered to 3 day express it at no charge which I thought was great (woman on the phone was very pleasant). So I go to check the status today, now two items are out of stock (one was a free with purchase item so I don't even know if they are going to still honor it) and they only shipped 2 of the 8 items I ordered. The rest just have nothing listed under status. Has anyone else had problems with musiciansfriend lately? They seem to really be dropping the ball...

A company the size of Musician's Friend/Music123/etc. is always dropping the ball on a couple people and doing great for others at the same time. I placed an order this weekend and everything worked out perfectly. It's just the luck of the draw, really.

A few years ago I ordered a dozen polishing cloths, a tin of Warwick beeswax, 2 sets of strings, and a stand for myself, and a Beatles Sgt Pepper jigsaw puzzle (it was near Christmas) for my dad.

They sent me the stand, the puzzle, about 6 dozen polishing cloths, 1 of the 2 sets of strings, a pack of 6 effect pedal patch cables that I didn't order, and nothing else.

I called, the operator apologized profusely and said the rest of my order would get shipped that day, with next-day delivery at no cost. I asked how to return the patch cables and extra cloths; the operator just said "Uh... merry Christmas! Keep them."

Sure enough, the next day, the rest of my order came. I thought it was odd, though, that this box was the same size as the first; big enough to ship a guitar stand in.
I opened it, and sure enough, there was my original order, in full, plus not one but two tins of the wax!

So now I was up 6 dozen polishing cloths, one tin of beeswax, one stand, one puzzle, one set of strings, and 6 patch cables.

I called again, and told them; but once again, the operator just said "keep it."

One puzzle went to my dad as planned, one stand went to my brother, and I kept the rest.

Anyone else have "Twelve Days of Christmas" running through your head as you read the list of things received?

I've never had any issues with them really. I did order a set of PA speakers from them a year or two ago, ended up not needing them (found some better/cheaper ones at a pawn shop.) and sent them back. The speakers were listed at 299 each or 480 for a pair, sent them back and they credited me the 299 each (600) instead of the 480 I had paid. Called to try and clear it up and basically got the same "it must be your lucky day" speech.

As far as shipping problems though, I now have everything shipped to my office, as nobody seems to be able to ship to my house in under 2 weeks for some reason. This is completely unrelated to musicians friend though.
