Music's greatest blunders

Sign in to disble this ad
Id have to say this

calling the Jazz bass the Jazz bass. Im sure it will put off at least half of the 14-18 year old beginner bass buyers. (yes I do confess to thinking it was for jazz only, that was until I found TB)

can anyone else think of any?

oh btw. sorry if this has already been posted somewhere. my eyes are hurting after trying to go through 500 partial matches on the search menu

The fact it was called a Jazz bass was actually the reason I got mine. I was 17. Of course 17 year olds that love Jazz are quite rare.

Although the MM StingRay was inventive when introduced, the explanation for its poor g string performance from Ernie Ball is a bit of a goof. See link.

http://www.ernieball.com/forums/show...0&postcount=13

I love the line, "IT is one of the things you get used to with a Sting Ray or not," when describing the noticeably weak g string output.

I'll take two...

Record companies who refused to sign the Beatles.

Pete Best managing to get fired from the Beatles.

Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks making a negative comment about the President while onstage.

Stevie Ray Vaughan getting on that helicopter.

There's a few!

That's a pretty good list.

I was also thinking boy bands, Cher, KoRn, that thingy that most tone-deaf pop singers today use to sound in tune... oh and Milli Vanilli.

I don't see how the Dixie Chicks are a 'major blunder'. Stars say what they like; Slayer putting swatiskas on their guitars was a really dumb move, but they're still millionaires.
