Must have music for a DJ, advice?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a tryout at a local bar to be weekend DJ. The ad said oldies and classic rock, easy enough. I get the guy on the phone he says be ready for anything, country, hip hop. top 40 etc. Those three words concern me because I am not into that kind of music..top 40 what is that Justin Timberlake..ICK! Rock and oldies that I know, maybe I'll try to slip in some Weather Report Being in Michigan I'm sure I need some Kid Rock and Eminem. What would be some safe country, hip hop, and top 40 tunes? BTW never DJ'd at a bar before. I think if I just push the drink specials and stuff and not talk very much I will be OK, any suggestions with that?
