Muzak has filed for bankruptcy. While there is a chance they can restructure and survive, we can still hope they don't |

What will life be like without Muzak renditions of Creed, Linkin Park, or JayZ???

Let them die a quick death; unfortunately, they have plenty of competition these days....

Good riddance.

Good riddance. | I'm sure that is the whole point... it looks vaguely scientific without really meaning anything. |

He premiered it with a chamber group at an art show, and when people stopped to listen to the people playing, he shooed them away, trying as hard as he could to get them to not pay attention to the music. Needless to say, he was ahead of his time.

| | In case you missed it, I work for QSC Audio! Applications Engineer, QSC Audio | | Join Date: Jul 2001 Location: Costa Mesa, Calif. | | In the late 70s I worked a couple years at a Caldor store in Connecticut. The piped-in Muzak was excruciatingly bland. I'm pretty sure I remember hearing a severely white-bread version of Long Train Running one night.
Part of the Muzak formula back then was that they did their own arrangements and recordings, and the arrangements were heavy on strings (violins, et al) and used no cymbals--the better to create a "soothing" retail environment that would be conducive to shopping and buying (and for some people, gagging). |

Even somehow attempting to ignore how horribly bad it sounded, who would consider "Welcome to the Jungle" to be soothing? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
