Unhappy My $25,000.00 gear up in flames! Please read guy's!

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been in the process of moving in the past few weeks just down the road, but to a new state. Unfortunately all my gear was at my mother's house waiting to be moved. A candle took the life of some $25,000.00 of my gear with it.

Of that,my USA Peavey Cirrus 6 string and my Yamaha MO8 Music Production Synthesizer survived...for now. I will post pics of the Cirrus, before and then after the repairs.

My racks, amps, cabs, pedals, mixers, etc. did not have such luck.
I had to PEEL my Cirrus out of it's case. I'd like to thank Mr. John Green Jr. of West Street Studios in Dover,DE for taking the Cirrus immediately under his expert supervision so I don't have to do the work myself, which was very helpful at such a time of duress. Any input or comments WILL be appreciated.

Thanks TB'ers!

-Luke

Insurance, yes. But this will be a battle of giving me enough money to satisfy and finding this gear again. Argh!

My mother and older brother were sleeping. Light first-degree burns and carbon monoxide poisoning, but they are just fine.

I thank you also John. Since I first accessed this site in 2001, you have answered nearly all my concerns. Not only that, but you introduced me to many progressive capabilities in myself by listening to you. You are truly inspirational. Thank you.

As a bass player, looking at that pic is akin to seeing another guy getting kicked in the bobbalones! Ouch! I'm glad noone was seriously injured, and I hope your battle with the insurance company isn't too bad.

Thanks Woodchuck. I love TB. There is only one small crack in the back of the head where two pieces of wood meet. The neck and body were pretty much untouched. It didn't help matters when firefighters threw all my cabs on TOP of my Cirrus which could even be why the head has a small crack! But I'm not blaming them for anything, they saved my family! There is hope yet!

Ooooooooh that sucketh.
Glad the family is ok......

None of the cymbals survived? Wow, hot fire.......

I live in mortal fear of fire....when I leave the house I even unplug my cell phone charger and all that. I stopped using candles at night after I fell asleep once and woke up realizing I hadn't put it out... *shudder*.

Wonder what kind of proof of value the insurance company is going to ask for?

Oh the frustration...158 grain High Velocity .357 MAGNUM. From my Ruger SP101.

I was thinking of a Dimmu Borgir riff at this moment, lol. You know...the ride/hi-hat chop on Vredesbyrd. I know somebody remembers that one. -Luke

One. 1970's Avedis Zildjian crash/ride.

I had a Zildjian Titanium Ride as an alternative ride cymbal.........looks like a taco. So much for integrity on the Titanium part.

I am glad your family is OK. Sorry about your gear.

Get ready for an increase on your insurance at next renewal. And pray you don't have another claim in the next 2 years, or you will get cancelled.

I hate insurance companies!

That bass will do it, that's for sure!

Here's hoping things go quickly and smoothly with the insurance claim.
