Talking My band was on TV! (+ YouTube content)

Back in October 2008, one of our shows in San Francisco was filmed live. TBH, it wasn't one of our smoothest shows (lots of technical difficulties), but as far as the recording went, it looks like it turned out great.

We were filmed by a camera crew and interviewed for an episode of MYX TV's Myxology. We were told to expect a DVD copy late last year. Fast-forward to the present... we finally got it.

Apparently, our episode was aired on February 2, 2009, and I didn't even realize it.

Anyhow... I did a little bit of editing and extracted all six songs which were featured in the episode. I broke it up into individual videos and have hosted them on YouTube:

If you're into thrash, metal, rock, and anything else that isn't "easy listening", I think you'll enjoy it.

On a related note... looks like the soundguy that night stuck largely to my post-board, pre-preamp DI feed and re-EQed it. So much for persuading them to mike me... but what's done is done. It just lacks amp content.

Hey! I'm into "easy listening" and I liked it. No seriously, looks and sounds good.

Heh... I thought there might be a few fans outside of the usual crowd.

Well, then come one, come all! We'll show you everything.

Awesome. You may not be happy with your tone, but I dig it.

Works for me.

One thing I'm thankful for is my presence in the mix. I'm certainly not buried in the mix like so many of my fellow four-banging counterparts!

Interesting that you mention it. He typically wears an Iron Maiden T-shirt to gigs. He's definitely a fan!

He has also played an Explorer, too. I even found a video clip where he talks about it!

Nice job. I liked it a lot.

Dude, your rhythm guitarist is jacked.

Any reason you guys were playing to an empty house?

LOL

It wasn't empty - plenty of people were there, although not many up in front of the stage. The venue's quite large, though, and while we had a good draw, the same couldn't be said for our companion bands that night. Still... good times.

Plus, it's SF, and our fanbase is in the East Bay. It's hard to convince people to cross the Bay Bridge, pay the toll, pay for parking, and STILL pay for admission.

The economy is not treating any of us kindly, especially the career musicians. Fortunately, I'm a hobby musician...

Gotchya. For what its worth, you guys definitely brought it--there was no indication in the performance that you guys weren't playing to a packed house. I had to stop and re-check the first two seconds to Let It Go before I could be sure.
