My cat loves bass

It's the funniest thing. Whenever I break out my bass at home and start slapping a few notes, my cat shows up and starts checking out my bass playing.
After a while she decides to get involved and try her hand at bass. She actually will grab a string and pluck it with her teeth (a la Hendrix).
She does it every time.

HAHAHA!

i don't know about plucking strings but my old cat LOVES the low end and will jump on top and he goes into some sort of aural orgasmic experience,in fact if i turn up the highs he gets weird, looks down on me and leaves, otherwise he'll sleep there all night

i'm not a cat guy by nature, i inherit animals from my 3 girls, this old cat belonged to my youngest daughter, he left for years, then came back,,he's cool!,old and laid back,i can understand that

I also have one who does that from time to time. She'll walk up to a bass that's just sitting there on the stand, she'll reach forward, grab a string between her teeth, pull back & release: "Boing!"

Sometimes she will go sit by my little amp I keep in the living room and just listen to me play. That's when she doesn't want to sit in of course.

Sounds like you might get a lot of hits on youtube.

Put together well, edited well, might be a showcase for some original music!

cats are crazy. if im listening to any old school punk or ska, i can expect my cat to walk in during the first or second song and fall asleep by my speakers. she likes to sit right in front of my amp when im playing bass (maybe a foot from it) so i usually end up turning the volume down some so it doesnt kill her ears.

Sounds like purring, maybe?

Both my furballs will often come to the basement, as soon as I start playing. But they only started after I switched to five string. I guess that debate is not species dependent.

LOL. Whenever I turn my amp on my cat sprints out of the room before I even hit a single note... cause he knows what's good for him.

810 + 215 = cat on the ceiling

She's a sickly girl we found in the woods when she was two weeks old. She was near death and her mother had abandoned her . We bottle fed her by hand for over a month. She has Chronic upper respiratory and viral problems. We have her on Supplements, Lysine and periodic antibiotics to combat secondary infections she can get.
She's well over a year old now and is doing well but sometimes she still gets runny eyes and crusty nose.

Taking a break from playing one day, I leaned my bass against the amp. My cat walked over to the bass, pushed it over, looked at me, and walked out. Everybody's a critic.

My cat plays the piano. She tries to climb my bass when I leave it in the gigbag and lean it against my wall. Thats all I got.

I don'y know why, but my dogs hate every instruments I've owned, all of them. If I start playing anything while they're around, they'll just run away. I guess I'm that bad

None of my cats have ever paid too much attention to my bass playing (though one likes to rub against my upright when it's on its stand), but I had one kitty who would go crazy when I would noodle on my recorder (the flute-type, I mean). I think she thought it was a bird song or something.
