My daughters first tune!!

Hi everyone!

Not to sure if this is the place for it but I had to share this...

My kids have been off for the winter break and they've been with dad this week. (divorced and they live w/ mom) After watching me play all week my daughter (12) asked if she could try to play along with some songs. So I got her strapped up with my old washburn 5'er and we prepare to start playing. She then asks if we can hear Save Me by Shinedown. This is one of the songs she has been watching me play all week. Well, when I started to "coach" her she says "dad, I got it relax..." And yes, to my surprise she DID have it! Not saying she was amazing but OMG!!! She had followed the song very well and completely made my week!

Now, I'm left with perma-smile!!

They are going home tomorrow, which breaks my heart...But she is taking my old 5'er and a 1x10 with her!!! Take that MOM!!

Sorry if it was a bit long winded, but I couldn't resist telling someone!!!!

Fabulous story, man. Thanks for sharing.

I hope my son has the talent and interest that your daughter does when he gets older.

Heh, its always nice when your kid wants to learn something you love, and even better when they're successful at it. Congrats, now you need to motivate her and give her lessons

Awesome. I'm hoping my children will be as into it. Got just about one of everything here for them to try.

Congrats. i don't know what your agreement on visitation is like, but if it's cool w/your daughter, ex, and the agreement-bass lessons with your daughter [ok-even if they are on the weekend] would be a great way to spend time w/her.

Take it easy.
