my ears "pop" when trying to sing high notes

Hey,

I've been putting a lot more time into working on my singing abilities, I take time t do some warm ups and practice scales by singing along as a I play on my bass.

When I get into the upper register range I find that when I try to hit the highest notes on my fretboard (19 fret and above on the A string) my ears "pop" (like if I was on a plane).

Does this happen to anyone else? I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not breathing properly and the "popping" is a release of pressure in my sinuses to let trapped air out.

You may just have clogged eustachian tubes.....had a cold recently? I find that sudafed and halls mtholyptus thingies get me over that outside of the singing angle.

I'll give the Halls or some Vicks vaporub a go. I haven't had a cold but now that I think of it we've been re-arranging desks etc in work which kicked up loads of dust - so there's probably a clog somewhere in the pipes!
