My first ever bass lesson!

It was a blast! I got my technique critiqued...(not too bad ) and worked mostly on basic theory... Talked a lot about intervals and their relation to chords, etc. and I learned more in an hour than I have in months of do-it-yourself bass instruction. I'm definitely hooked. My teacher went to Berklee and has been in the business for 30+ years and is primarily a jazz bassist who also plays double bass, so this is gonna be fun!

I wish I had done this 30 years ago...damned hindsight kicking in again!

Yeah, but 30 years ago this moment probably wouldn't have had the same impact it's having now

I've only just started back playing since October. I used to play pretty regularly just jamming with friends, but nothing serious...sat in with a couple bands here and there, but since I started back, I wanted to really learn instead of just jam, so there you go. My goal is to be a solid "pocket" bassist with the ability to solo if i want to, if that makes any sense. I'd rather just be able to lay down a solid foundation and let the guitarist take all the glory...as usual...

This is SO me, except I started playing again about three years ago; I'm also going into my third year of lessons and have absolutely no regrets!

Me = jealous. When I get into a little better position $$-wise and move out of the cesspool of a town that I live in now, I will start taking some lessons w/o a doubt. ::rubs temples and recites "patience is a virtue...whooosa::
