I'm 45 and very late in the game. Today I joined my first band, fellow late in lifers, for example drummer is 42 and started 6 monthes ago. Found a little groove with him in 4 hours of practise. First time for me playing with a band, everybody is amatuer.

Tomorrow night we go play a couple songs at a biker bar, open mic night.

I think I will enjoy this whole experience so much more then if I had done it 30 years ago.

Hurrah for us "mature" players joining the ranks. I'm in my mid-50s and just started gigging with a couple of friends. I'm not the oldest first-timer in the band, either. At last, I feel like I haven't been wasting my time and money acquiring gear in my basement!
