My left arm is killing me!

I've recently developed this sharp, nagging pain in my left outer bicep. It really hurts when making a motion like going to apply deodorant. Now, I've acquired a new bed recently so it's probably the manner in which I sleep, but I'm wondering if it might be because I've been playing so much bass lately. I practice every day, rehearse and play at church every week, and otherwise noodle on it regularly. I never had this pain when I played guitar, is it the bass' weight that's doing it? Ibuprofen seems to help, and I wonder if anyone else has had this?

I had this same problem in my right arm. It was a combination of me sleeping on it, CTS (carpel tunnel) from bass playing, and football. turned out to be pinched nerves. Hurt like a mother.

Also consider a pinched nerve in your neck. Which could be from the same kind of 'sleeping on it wrong/wierd repeated motion/possible forgotten injury' stuff you're already thinking about.
