My Magazine Cover

Sign in to disble this ad
This year I took tech graphics as one of my courses, and up to this part, It had been all AutoCAD, which wasn't what I had signed up for, but now is the part I wanted.

Photoshop

So our assignment is to make a magazine cover, and obviously being a bass maniac, I've decided to do a bass guitar magazine (yeah, the names already taken, but our teacher doesn't know that)

So I need reviews of it, and what better place than talkbass, I know some of the stuff isn't 'new', but just play along, it was the stuff I had on file at the time, and appropriate pictures too.

So please review it, be as mean as possible, I want to get good marks, I need to know what to work on

Thanks alot guys,

Josh

It looks a bit like some issues of the UK Bass Guitar magazine -

- not that one in particular, but issues I have seen in shops...?

What I may have forgotten to mention is the main question I wanted to ask.

If you saw this in your local newsagent, Would you look/or buy it?

Why would/wouldn't you?

I would because it would mean they actually HAVE a bass mag out here.

If it were in a group, I wouldn't buy it, because it totally does not catch my eye. Remind me of a mid-eighties, early nineties low budget mag.

You need a less pastel color scheme, a more interesting font or a logoized title, and a less boring instrument or a player. Try tossing Stig's reverse J 2 stringer pic in there, or a really nice bass or comparison of boutique and boutique looking basses. Maybe Alembic VS Carvin VS Schecter VS Peavey VS etc...

So I need to put a nicer bass on the cover, needs to be more eye catching, so a brighter? colour scheme, and mor eye catching font.

Cool, thanks for thata man

It's hard finding a picture of bass players, the proper magazines take their own pics, so it becomes hard without knowing a real bass player
