is my TU-15 broken?

only had it a month and only use it once a week for a couple of hours with the back light off but the battery indicator keeps flashing. new ones are ok but come the next week when i turn it on the indicator is flashing. it still runs for a couple of hours but surley this cant be right. i do turn it off after use
