Mystery Yamaha Leslie

Hey guys,

I just found this thing on the used market here in Denmark and was wondering if anyone could ID it for me -

It's supposed to be a 100w tube amp with a 15" speaker and a rotary horn. Other than that, I know nothing about it. The GAS is quickly setting in though... Yummy.

Thanks,
Chris

Precisely what I thought when I saw it.

I've now learned that it's a Yamaha RA-70 but I'm still at a loss to how much it's worth. The seller isn't being very responsive (or at least he's being very slow).

I've played through one of those! One of my mates used to own one... Weighs a TON!!!! Sounded alright, very different to a real leslie. Not sure if it was actually tube or not... Loud and heavy were the two main things I remember. He used it for guitar and keys... If it's cheap(ish) buy it!

I'm totally in love. Especially since Gilmour used an RA-200 (different beast, but still... I feel like I have to. ).

Thanks for the heads up on the weight. I'm going to try it before I buy it, I think. See if it's worth the cash.

Same here! I'm not sure it's the exact same model, but it's at least close to one a friend had in the late '80's. It was immensely heavy. I'm pretty sure his was tubes. My ancient Yamaha YC30 Stage Organ sounded good through it.
