| Nady XR-61 @ GC

So I was in GC today and saw a Nady XR-61 wireless receiver on clearance for $50, still in box. I looked at it for a while, and was told by the salesperson that it was only the receiver, while the transmitter (Nady GT-3) was sold separately (which they didn't have). Apparently, it only works with the GT-3 transmitter, so I passed. They don't make these anymore, but the reviews on MF give it a 8.50 overall.
Was this the right decision or did I lose out on a great deal?
