Name a band whose singer you hate!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I am trying to compare a sound but I cannot find the right band I can compare it with.

In other words, could you please name a singer that you hate or that you think has a bad voice.

Throw in a freebie and name a bassist you hate, as well.

******
After reading a couple of posts. Maybe some of you took it as a "band" to hate. I was calling for a "singer" to hate based on his vocal skills, but we all have different standards on what is good or bad.

For instance:

Good voice:
- Scott Stapp: "Singer" from creed. IMO he is a great singer on most of his popular songs, plus most of songs from first album
- Anthony Kiedis: "Singer" from RHCP. IMO he is a great singer for that type of music for all of their slow, fast, rock and funk styles
- Bono: I mean who doesn't like Bono?
- Celine Dion: I also don't like Celine Dion, but she has a great voice, therefore no hate.

Bad voice:
- Geddy Lee: of "Rush", I always thought the singer was a girl. Like one of those annoying brats that says "nanana I'm gonna tell my mom you did this". Bully girl.
- Bob Dylan: of "Bob Dylan". I like tamborine man but other than that the singing is all over the place. Great songwriting but voice I am not so sure.

Mention a singer you don't like, not just the entire band.

I can't stand the falsetto voice of Coldplay's Chris Martin. Also:
Finger Eleven
Sarah MacLaughlin
Tom DeLonge
Melissa Etheridge
Adam Lambert
Serj Tankian
J-Lo
Shakira
Rihanna
Willie Nelson
Justin Bieber
Lil' Wayne
Josh Groban
Adam Levine
Oh, and most of all:
BILLY JOE ARMSTRONG

As far as BANDS go: GREEN DAY! (that guy always sounds like he's taking a dump in his pants)

As far as SOLO ACTs go: Brittany Spears, Jessica Simpson, and MOST of the new female country singers with that over-the-top exaggerated Southern "twang" (like that super annoying chick that sings that one about being a country girl saying "hey y'all and yee haw")...and Bob Dylan (great writer, HORRIBLE vocalist)

Guns n Roses. I'd drag my fingers across a chalkboard to block out that SOB's screeching.

GnR
Metallica
Dio

But mostly GnR.

And the only bassists I've come close to hating are Mike Anthony and Duff McKagen... but then I heard an interview with Duff and he frankly sounded like a very nice guy - not great talent, but an awfully nice cat. So no hate for him (though he still isn't much of a bassist, in my opinion)

I loved what Morello and Commerford were doing with Rage, but hated the hip hop vocal approach. I also loved Soundgarden. So Audioslave was a pretty good idea in my opinion.

Because you edited out the most important part. I liked Rage but hated the vocals. I liked the Soundgarden vocals. Therefore, I liked Audioslave.
