Nashville Song Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been playing in the Middle Tennessee area for years now. I've played in a Phish tribute band, rock/blues/country bar bands, heavy rock, (currently) a LedZep tribute band, and (currently)a singer/songwriter/bar band.
I'm making income as a player, but still have a 20-25 hour week dayjob. I have played country in a few bar bands. I've also backed a couple locals on their originals, but I've always used charts and I've memorized a few. I'm also studying jazz to expand my hireability.
I get paid pretty well playing with the acts I'm in now, but I'd like to be able to pickup those $30-50 Broadway gigs if I'm off or bored. If I pickup enough I could quit my dayjob...<tear falls>

ANYWAY, my question to ya'll (especially Nashvillians) :

What do you think the top 20 country cover tunes should be learned by a bassist living in Nashville?

(I know some, but wanted to get other opinions)
